Tracid 500mg Tablet prevents bleeding by blocking the plasminogen from binding with fibrin which results in bleeding. As a result, it prevents and controls bleeding associated with various conditions.
Tranexamic Acid is used to treat and prevent bleeding in conditions such as,
Tranexamic acid is primarily metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine. The elimination half-life is about 2 hours, but it may be prolonged in patients with impaired renal function. The dose of tranexamic acid should be reduced in patients with renal impairment. Tranexamic acid should also be used with caution in patients with a history of thromboembolic events, as it may increase the risk of such events. Additionally, it should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to tranexamic acid or any of its components. Tranexamic acid is available in various forms, including tablets, injections, and topical preparations, and it should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Take Tracid 500mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush or chew the drug; instead, swallow it whole. This medication will not work well if taken before your menstruation has begun. Clinically important interactions have not been observed with Tranexamic acid. Because of the absence of interaction studies, simultaneous treatment with anticoagulants must take place under the strict supervision of a physician experienced in this field.

Tranexamic acid crosses the placenta. Clinical experience of use in pregnant women is limited. Animal studies have not supplied any evidence of an increased incidence of fetal damage. Tranexamic acid is excreted into breast milk, but it is not likely to influence the child at therapeutic doses.
